Because she always wanted a job to perform, Piper introduced us to many different facets of the dog world. There were many “firsts” in our relationship. Piper was our first to participate in such a wide variety of activities and always did them with style. She was our first dog to obtain a Junior Hunter and did it in 5 passes at 6 years old, despite the fact that I was totally inexperienced in this area. She was our first to earn a CD, finishing her title in three shows. Imagine my surprise when I saw her listed in the Memo as ranking 3rd in the Novice A Group and tied for 5th place in all the Novice classes for Irish Setters. Piper also earned the first VC title in our kennel.
Piper’s only litter produced 5 champions :CH. McLauren’s Second Generation,JH., CH McLauren’s Quarterback Blitz, CH. McLauren’s Quarterback Princess, CH McLauren’s NE..... and CH McLauren’s RunStopper,MH, the youngest IS Master Hunter.
Piper is now in a cancer free place, but will always be with us in spirit. “In my heart you hold a place on one could ever fill.”
